Arai Shoji Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture;President and CEO: Ryozo Arai),will launch a trial of its new “Self-Listing Segment” for forklifts on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, as a new initiative in its auction business. The new system allows sellers to list items without transporting them to the auction venue in advance.
Under the Self-Listing Segment, sellers inspect and photograph items stored at their own premises and register the listing information themselves. Arai Auction then reviews the submitted information before the items are offered at auction through image-based listings. Only items that are successfully sold are transported to the auction venue, allowing Arai Auction to explore a new distribution model that differs from conventional auctions.
■List Items at Auction Without Transporting Them to the Venue
In conventional auctions, items must be transported to the auction venue before they can be listed, regardless of whether they are ultimately sold. With the Self-Listing Segment, however, items can remain at the seller’s storage location while being offered at auction and are transported to the venue only after a successful sale.
This system helps reduce the burden on sellers associated with transporting items before an auction and removing unsold items afterward, while maintaining a secure trading environment through appropriate management of seller and buyer information.
In addition, items that have previously been less likely to enter the auction market due to transportation costs and other factors may now become available. This is expected to provide buyers with more opportunities to discover a wider range of items.
■Creating Opportunities to Discover New Types of Items
During the trial, the Self-Listing Segment will be held as a dedicated segment within the Forklift Auction. By adopting a listing method that does not require items to be transported to the auction venue in advance, the segment may attract new types of items, including models that have rarely been offered at Arai Auction in the past.
The segment will also apply a flat successful bid fee. Depending on the vehicle type and tonnage, this may help reduce the cost for buyers when making a successful bid.
By expanding the range of items available to buyers, Arai Auction aims to create a marketplace that is easier and more convenient to use for both sellers and buyers.

■Starting November 10, with Monthly Auctions Planned
The first Self-Listing Segment will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, with subsequent auctions scheduled once a month during the second week of each month.
During the trial period, the service will be available to selected sellers designated by Arai Auction. Through actual listings and transactions, Arai Auction will evaluate operational procedures and identify areas for improvement.
Based on the results of the trial, Arai Auction plans to gradually expand both the types of items eligible for the service and the number of participating sellers.
As online transactions continue to expand and the logistics environment evolves, Arai Auction will continue to respond to changes surrounding the auction industry. By exploring new auction models beyond conventional frameworks, Arai Auction will work to create a marketplace that delivers new value to its members.
